CodeWink Labs is an independent software company. We develop and publish our own products.

We do it at a deliberately small scale: a short list of software, and the time to get each piece right. Everything we ship is designed, built, supported, and maintained in-house, and used daily by the people who make it.

That is easy to promise at this size and hard to promise at any other. Panelogue, our comic script writing software, is the current product. It is not the limit of what the company will publish. We build software we would want to use, and we stand behind it after the sale.

Panelogue

Comic script writing software. Pages and panels instead of scenes and paragraphs, a page map that shows the whole issue at once, and a review link an editor can comment on that comes back into the script.

Earlier experiments

Before Panelogue, CodeWink Labs built two browser extensions. Both shipped briefly and both are due a second pass, so they sit on the bench rather than in the catalog.

The same standards apply to every product we publish, whatever its pricing model.

    We use what we sell.

    Every feature is used in real work by the people who built it before it ships to anyone else.

  2. 02

    A person answers.

    Support email reaches the people who built the product. Refunds are decided by someone who read the message.

  3. 03

    Pricing says what it is.

    Whether a product is a one-time license or a subscription, the price and what it includes are stated plainly before you pay.

  4. 04

    Your work stays yours.

    You can always get your files out of our software, in formats you can open elsewhere.

  5. 05

    No invented numbers.

    No made-up statistics, no testimonials we wrote ourselves, and no running down other people's tools.

  6. 06

    Small on purpose.

    A short list of products, each maintained properly, is the standard. We add to the list only when we can keep it.
